Ukrainian National Women's League of America
Soyuz Ukrainok is a national organization of women of Ukrainian descent with
goals of preserving the Ukrainian national identity and cultural heritage
through studies, research and educating the American public about Ukrainian
history, literature, arts, and traditions. Soyuz Ukrainok is dedicated to
preserving the culture and traditions of Ukraine.

2002 Ukrainian National Women's League - Pittsburgh, PA
The Ukrainian National Women's League of America, Branch 27 of Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania in honor of Olha Basarab, is dedicated to the propagation of
Ukrainian culture and education. Its members...
- are on the teaching and organizational staff of Ridna Shkola, School of Ukrainian Studies
- take part in the annual Pittsburgh Folk Festival
- coordinate the displays at the Ukrainian Nationality Room at the University of Pittsburgh
- sponsor numerous workshops in beadwork, embroidery and festive breadmaking demonstrated by
Master Craftsman, Vasyl Jula.
The UNWLA also participates at numerous local civic affairs. It has helped raise
funds for several relief organizations, such as the The Children of Chernobyl
Relief Fund, the fund for the support of the flood victims in Zakarpatia; and
the Zolotchiv, Ukraine school renovation fund.
Since its inception in 1926 the Pittsburgh branch has been instrumental in
furthering the efforts of many civic, educational and cultural aspects of
Ukrainian life here in Pittsburgh and abroad.
